NIOS 12th Exam 2021 Cancelled: As per the latest update, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has decided to cancel the NIOS Class 12 Board Exam 2021 in the light of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation. Following the cancellation, students will now be evaluated on the basis of objective criteria which will be notified soon. As per the earlier schedule announced earlier, the NIOS Board Class 12 Exam 2021 which was scheduled to be held in June 2021, but the same has been cancelled now.

News Confirmed by Education Minister

The news about cancellation of NIOS Class 12 Exam 2021 has also been confirmed by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. In a tweet sent out from his official account, Mr Pokhriyal noted that “Keeping the safety and security of our students on priority, NIOS cancels class 12 examinations. Students will be evaluated based on objective criteria to be announced soon. This will benefit around 1.75 Lakhs students.” Following this, the NIOS Board also issued an official circular clarifying that the Class 12 Board Exam has been cancelled for now and that students would now be evaluated as per objective criteria.

Optional Exam for Unsatisfied Students

Going by the details shared by NIOS in the official circular, the board also plans to provide the option of appearing for exams for those students who are unsatisfied with the result announced based on the objective criteria. The official notice in this regards reads that “Learners who remain dissatisfied with the alternative evaluation criteria will be given a chance to improve their results through on-demand examination, which will be held when the situation becomes conductive.” However, as of now the objective criteria and evaluation matrix has not been announced by the NIOS. Therefore, it would be best for students to wait for their results before considering the exam option.
